Abstract

Multi-wall carbon nanotubes(MWCNT) exhibit extraordinary mechanical and electronicproperties. However, the preparation and processing of MWCNT cpmposites has been limited by theirdispersity. The presence of hydroxy groups formed by the surface oxidation of MWCNT increases thedispersion of MWCNT in polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) resin according to the increase of negativesurface 1charges. It was shown that PTFE composites including MWCNT improved the hardness andthe hydrophobicity of PTFE coating and given the electrical conductivity on coating film.
