Synthesis and Characterization of Aromatic Diaminoanthraquinone Derivatives

Abstract

We prepared aromatic diaminoanthraquinone derivatives a1, b1, a2, b2, a3, and b3 by the reaction of1,5- and 1,8-dichloroanthraquinone by using aniline, 2-aminobenzothiazole, and 1-aminonaphthalene in order toknow the effect on the maximum absorption wavelength due to changes in the aromatic group. The opticalproperties, solubility and thermal stability of prepared aromatic diaminoanthraquinone derivatives was analyzed.When the maximum absorption wavelength of a1 and b1, are compared with a2 and b2, there were no change inthe wavelength, a3 and b3 are less than 10 nm bathochromic shift. Therefore, effect of the maximum absorptionwavelength due to the change of the aromatic group is small.
