Photoluminescence Properties of Y3Al5O12:Ce3+ Single Crystals Coated CaAlSiN3:Eu2+ Phosphors

Abstract

Y3Al5O12:Ce3+(YAG:Ce3+) Single Crystals and CaAlSiN3:Eu2+(CASN) Phosphors were investigated. Single crystals were grown by the floating zone method. XRD measurement results showed a diffraction pattern corresponding to the JCPDS Card (#73-1370) and belongs to the space group la-3d(230) and it could be confirmed that in the cubic structure. PL of the single crystal was 550 nm and exhibited a broad spectrum of emission peak with a half band width of 71 nm. PLE showed an peak of 350 nm and 460 nm. PL of CASN powder was 604 nm. PLE showed an peak of 460 nm. In the PL spectrum measured of single crystals coated CASN by blue LED, red shift phenomenon can be seen that also increase with increasing density of the CASN. In addition, the color rendering property Ra of YAG:Ce3+ single crystal : 67, CASN 10 wt% : 78. It could be confirmed that the color rendering property is improved.
