The preparation of inorganic particle scattering layer for OLED light extraction
Abstract
A facile method to fabricate the light extraction structure via solution-processing to enhance light scattering extraction property was investigated. In this study, the different weight percents of silica (SiO2) or hollow silica nanoparticles dispersed in poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) matrix were coated onto the glass substrate by the spin-coating approach. The nanoparticle scattering layer based on polymer solution containing 30% wt. SiO2 particles was shown the scattering property higher than hollow SiO2 particles at 588 nm. In the contraction, the scattering layer based on hollow SiO2 particles and PMMA possessed an excellent transmittance property by the back-scattering effect. Moreover, the ratio of diffusion and transmittance was also improved when the weight percents of nanoparticles were increased.
